Burning Coals

Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.
Buddha
Its absolutely true, I felt, when I read this quote. Anger eats into oneself, leaving just a heap of ashes. I realized I hold on to anger for things not in my control. Anger burns in me for twists of Fate. The Fate that robbed me of my Father, the Fate that took Mother's life. I dwelt on these things today, because, one year back, it was today my Mother breathed her last.
Bringing in Buddha's words into my life would be the right thing for me now.
My mother used be calm and serene, Buddhist, I used to jokingly say to her. Today, I look for that very same calmness of mind and spirit.
