Fun and boredom.

I am sooo bored with life just now that I actually searched up quotes about boredom!
I did come up with few quotes, like,
Is boredom anything less than the sense of one's faculties slowly dying?
Arthur Helps
This one kind of scared me and I decided, "Hey, I'm going to get a grip on life!"
Its just that life was so up and down these few days, what with my bro (like, my li'l nephew who wants to call his older cousin, "bro", to show off to friends that he's got a cool brother! ) and his wife visiting us and time whizzing by, and then, everything reverting to its normal dull pace after they left.

As I am going through a bored phase, I do know I have to prevent myself from disillusionment, just like in this quote here,
It is only a step from boredom to disillusionment, which leads naturally to self-pity, which in turn ends in chaos.

One solution that I found was to start an art journal. Of course I am new to it, but, I do enjoy learning and experimenting. Art is my key to well being, and, as I started with it in an unplanned way, I realized themes started taking shape by themselves.

from my art journal

 I began with this

Elephants trekking through a forest

Humming bird soaring
Since this page was done, I have done two more, and, feel more at ease. I used ink, acrylics, liners, oil pastels....anything I felt like. The elephants were created by sponge smudges in water proof ink.

January was not totally without fun, because we went to a waterfall near Coimbatore, called 'Kovai Kurtralam'. The greenery was so refreshing, as you can see,

Amazing root of a tree, where, a lady was selling raw mangoes

Clinging to the rock

Green and glowing!

Gurgling away merrily

Tender coconuts by the roadside

Well , maybe life is fun, and, you got to check, like the February Groundhog, for sunshine that may be round the corner.

Groundhog Day

Old Groundhog stretched in his leafy bed.
He turned over slowly and then he said,
"I wonder if spring is on the way,
I'll go and check the weather today.
If I see my shadow between eleven and noon,
I then will know that I'm out too soon.
I'll crawl back in bed for six weeks more,
Pull up the warm covers and snore and snore.
But if no shadow gives me a scare,
I know that spring is in the air,
I'll wake my friends and wish them cheer,
With glorious news that spring is here."
