Game of cards at five

When my aunt played with some of her friends,

I got the idea to paint women at the card table.

It seemed to have so many metaphorical possibilities that

I just could not resist!

  Some quotes I found...

"Life is like a game of cards. The hand you are dealt is determinism; the way you play it is free will."Jawaharlal Nehru

"Cards are war, in disguise of a sport. "Charles Lamb

Cards on the table can swing any way and I guess the trick is to play it right,

not get lost in the shuffle!

I have used gouache, ink, a bit of glitter.

I want to add a sketch I did using ball point pen.

Happy Paint Party Friday to all of you!

  10. Wowl! This is awesome. I really dig your rich dark colors and full lines. I agree with Anne Manda--very expressive painting. I can feel the mood. And that wallpaper maybe my favorite--the detail draws me into the story which feels like a dream.

    1. I wanted a background that highlighted the energy of the game. So, red was a natural choice and the decorative pattern was to give a salon look to it. :-) Thanks Kae
