Holding Hands - Poem for The Mag
When you took my hands
Was it to let go?
Was it just for few moments that
Your fingers pulled me into
An embrace?
Did you think I could
Hold on if you let go?
Wasn’t it strange
That other than you,
I had never held hands
With anyone, ever.
And now, your hands
No longer hold mine
So I learnt to
Clench them up
Lest some hand ever
Seeks mine
And I forget
Lessons learnt.

a knot in my stomach.....unclench, please
ReplyDeleteThat's quite sad. Clenched hands not allowing a healing touch. Well done.
ReplyDeleteoh dear
ReplyDelete... oh, so overwhelmingly sad. We all go through it, and learn to reach out soon enough. Well done.
