Glow from the inside!

For all of us, childhood memories of fireflies are always tinged with wonder and mystery.
This little creature has the power to  root a child in round eyed wonder and spark off their curiosity.
We have all stood like this girl looking at the fireflies flitting around and even tried to keep them as our own, wishing to possess something so magical!

The color prompt at SoC (lavender, grey and plum) made me think of fireflies  and here is my entry.

Wait, this quote is so beautiful, I wanted to share it as well...

“I am but a firefly caught in his jar and when he looks at me, I can’t help but glow.”
―Kellie Elmore

The light of the firefly is so beautiful. So poetic. I do not want to think of all the science behind it! :-)
Do you think so too?

Glow from the inside.

  22. mmmm
years ago, my biologist (now X) hubby and I were helping ID our NW firefly relative, a glowworm! I drew a female under the microscope (she DIDN'Tenjoy the Lïght, and kept crawling away!) The makes fly (can glow then, but don't flash), but the females remain in larval form, with a Lôvélÿ Lïght on each side, rather yellowish.... even the eggs glow!
