Precious thoughts to hold on to...

Working with the black and white color prompt on So Artful Challenges was new for me because I have never used this combination of colors ! For that very reason I wanted to try it and I decided to combine it with ' house'  theme on Art Journal Journeys
Looking at my concept of a house objectively, this image of a tiny house in the midst of the city crowding in on it came in my mind!
The tall buildings cropping up like mushrooms is a phenomenon that is so common in Indian cities...but what happens to the tiny little houses that used to be there, or are struggling to look out from behind these monsters?
To think further, if the metaphor of a dwelling place is akin to our mind, I can only see an encroaching megapolis as a threatening presence. And, our little houses, our precious, and benign thoughts as things to hold on to.

In the light of my thoughts on this, I would like to share these quotes that seemed very true.

The secret of happiness, you see, is not found in seeking more, but in developing the capacity to enjoy less. -Socrates

If one’s life is simple, contentment has to come. Simplicity is extremely important for happiness. Having few desires, feeling satisfied with what you have, is very vital: satisfaction with just enough food, clothing, and shelter to protect yourself from the elements. -The Dalai Lama

So, here is my entry,

Our true residence is indeed our mind.
