No rules. Leaps in the dark - Abstract painting.

“The artist never entirely knows — We guess. We may be wrong, but we take leap after leap in the dark” ~Agnes de Mille

Leap after leap in the dark is turning out to be the best art journey ever for me because I did not let rules or expectations direct me.
A canvas that began as abstract colors and lines gradually took shape, actually pretty fast -  because I was so charged and was able to get it all done in a day. This is how it began,

It went thorough several stages when I just let my hand take over as it became clearer to me that what I was finally creating was a plant growing in this jar.

Until, finally this is my finished painting. :-)

I called it my succulents in a jar. Maybe a terrarium?
I loved painting completely from my imagination, watching it materialize as if from thin air!
It is 18"x 13" acrylic on canvas.

I am linking to my very talented friends on PPF, AJED, CED, Friday Sketches.

  3. What a fascinating result, a different kind of subject. Love the way it evolved from the first painting which was very attractive too.

  5. It is interesting you started from the abstract and went the opposite way..just like the early Cubists. I enjoyed seeing the progression.
