Valparai- verdant greenery

Valparai is an amazingly green hill station where a weekend is hardly enough to ease the frayed eyes of concrete-bound city dwellers. Lush rain forests, tea gardens spread like a green carpet, rushing brooks, wildlife consisting of mountain deers, bisons, elephants, leopards and various birds, combine enchantingly to draw visitors into its spell.

It brings to mind Shakespeare's words from As You Like It,

"And this our life, exempt from public haunt,
Finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks,
Sermons in stones, and good in every thing."

A deserted watch tower in the middle of the forest.

                                           Robert Frost in the forest!

                                           Wayside village

                                                            Bougainvilla blooms...

Eternally gazing into the misty blue mountains.
                                           An anonymous grave.
                                           Morning glory

                                           Wild flowers.

  1. Nice to meet you.
Interesting, if it wasn't for the monkey and the village and Bison it could have been England.
