Time and Thoughts.
Do not dwell in the past;
do not dream of the future,
concentrate the mind on the present moment.
So says The Buddha.
do not dream of the future,
concentrate the mind on the present moment.
So says The Buddha.
Well, I am sure we have
all come across wise quotes like this
one,
but, I always feel like asking,
Dear Buddha, what to do when the mind goes on a dance,
tripping to times past and times ahead?
I find myself constantly
reminiscing
about happy days in the past
and not infrequently dream
whether
such days are going to come again.
One of the best memories
that come up is
of standing by the beach on a moonlit night,
watching the lacy
silvery waves
creating a frothy fringe
on the glowing sands.
Time stood still for me at that point.
I know thinking of the past
denies the present,
but I linked the two
through my painting.
The birds in flight to me seem like Time.
Past, Present, Future.
I went on a walk by the water
the other day and
walked alongside chinese fishing nets .
The fishermen
lower the nets and lift them up
to catch fish.
It's an ancent Chinese method
hardly seen anymore
even in China.
And, I came across
this lonely deserted
bit of land and water
with stumps of trees standing
like some abstract painting.
I want to share
two sketches of birds that I did.
.
