Blue Green Autumn

Water, the theme for Illustration Friday 

filled me with images of blue and green.

I imagined looking at 

the dusky orange and grey world 

from underneath this blue green canopy.

Come, swim with me in this blue green world 

and look upwards at the amber sky... 

 

A poem I read by Emily Dickinson struck me, 

Water, is taught by thirst.

I know,  Ode to The West Wind  by Shelley

was definitely in my subconscious somewhere 

when I conjured up this image.

These lines are unforgettable,

"Thou who didst waken from his summer dreams

The blue Mediterranean, where he lay,

And saw in sleep old palaces and towers
