It was one
night, early in summer,
the moon was out
Pouring its
pearly light on the glossy mango leaves,
I heard a
stirring midst the branches
And, looking
through the window, met a pair of eyes
Staring right
back at me,
Wise old
eyes, they seemed to me
And,
startled me a bit
But downright
took my breath away,
When, with a
shrill,
Two Whit Twooo
Whooooo,
She sank
swiftly, silently back into night.
I was inspired to draw this owl and write the poem after seeing Netty's owl, here.
Thank you Netty for being my Muse today!
Another reason is a barn owl that was roosting in a next door vacant house.
My son clicked this pic that I would like to share with you,
Love the story and the artwork. Really enjoyed it. love Netty's work too. Fantastic having an owl live next door.. :)

ReplyDeleteI am in love with owls, I watched Molly the owl(box) 24/7 for over a year. Your picture and your poem could certainly fit into a picture book/or children's magazine. The photograph is so adorable and wonderful. Your son is a good photographer. Very talented family. Blessings, Janet PPF
