Magically real!

What happens when everyday happenings are as fantastic as magic?

Will it create surprise? Skepticism? Or, do we tend just to ignore it?

I definitely do not. As you will understand when I tell you what happened one day when I was painting two birds on one of my canvases.

Believe it or not, two tiny birds – not hummingbirds, but only about as big as my index finger, flew into the balcony right outside my studio on the fifteenth floor and started playing, flying around from one hanging orchid pot to the other, and dancing on the terracotta chimer there.

Enchanted by the whole performance, I just sat brush frozen in hand, watching them quietly, without disturbing them, until they investigated my orchids to their hearts content, and flew away.

I felt they had come from some magical place just to visit me and felt so inexplicably happy!

And they flew in at the moment I was painting these birds on my canvas!

To me their visit was as magical as being assured that there are happy spirits watching over me!
It was as if they spoke to me!

Have you had any such experiences? I would love to know!

I guess, ultimately that is what I ended up communicating through this painting of mine,  imagination is real and real is imaginary too! The theme of interconnectedness.

  1. Super project, love the birds. Whilst on Honeymoon in ST Lucia, a super little humming bird came up to some pretty flowers outside on our balcony, I must admit it was magical.

  5. Lovely painting and story. I have a little bird bath in our garden, and the birds often ask me to refill it. You know, you get this feeling that that's what they want you to do.

  6. First I am very impressed with this art work. I can feel the peace that seems to permeate the painting. The tiny birds were such a gift. In my tribe we learn at a very young age to watch nature and especially the animals. They always carry a message to us. Could they have been fledgling Finch? If so your world is gong to be full of activity, more than usual.
    Have a very happy weekend.

  9. I love the joy and connection with the birds in your beautiful painting. How special to have that visit by those hummingbirds. Did you know hummingbirds represent joy? I am fortunate to have a few hummingbirds visit the feeder and flowers every summer-e real treat to watch. I hope yours come by again.
