Be Fearless. Abstracts, Frida, stone and skull.
I have been painting so much and I am just so happy about it!
It took me decades to start off on my real passion in life...four decades and lot of self realization!
I used to love painting even as a small girl, but was so painfully shy that I failed to steer myself into art as passionately as I do now. In fact, so shy that even when I was given a prize for a painting contest at age six, I hung back from going on the stage to receive it, and another girl with the same name who had won so many prizes assumed it must be hers and went on stage to get it!! :-)
As years passed somehow art was relegated to the background until around ten or twelve years ago I dipped my hand into color, to be metaphorical literally !! :-)
Since then I have been addicted to color and felt so good expressing myself in my own visual vocabulary. Be it joy, be it sorrow, I just paint!
And my eighty nine year old grandma is almost nonplussed seeing her granddaughter turning into an artist in middle age!!
Well, never an age to start living your dreams, right?
So here goes my art for the week... some of the pics are not too good because they were clicked while I painted, often in a hurry. :-)
Painting abstract is really becoming a favorite way of expression for me, be it intuitive or expressionist or whatever.
Another abstract, inspired by floating ice, which I connected with a melting of self defeating blocks within ourselves, was born like this...
And Frida Kahlo theme over at Art Jornal Journey was so interesting I wanted to try it as well...
A ball point pen sketch collaged on a page with ink, watery acrylics and pastels. " Be Fearless" is my message to myself! ;-)
I am going to be including most of these artworks in a show coming up very soon at Bangalore. ( My first one ever! Yes, very excited!! Will post details on my FB soon. ) I plan on adding few handpainted stones like this one here...
And let me wind up with a very loved creation of mine in clay,
Hope you like some of these!
Wishing all of you a very happy, creative week ahead!
